Who am I? My name is Lorrie Harper. I
have been a General Manager in the food industry for the last 17 years. I started out
in the food industry over 30 years ago's in the fast food. I worked for Taco Bell
and a Senor Taco, while in High School. After High School, I switched to Denny's, Sambos,
Jolly Tiger and Carrows as a food server. In 1988 I switched to Cask-n-Cleaver to
learn casual fine dining service. They specialized in high quality steaks, fresh
fish, full service bar and fine wines.
In 1990 I changed career paths and switched
to management. By late 1990, I became a General Manager for Carrows, then
switched to Red Lobster, back to Carrows for a few years, and worked for Cops Donuts...brand
new concept in Carmicahel, CA.
I now teach classes at San Joaquin Delta College (Community College) in
Stockton, CA. I teach Food Service Management, Purchasing and Receiving and a few hospitality classes. I have my
Bachelor's in Business Management and have attended numerous food industry training
courses, created training programs for various corporations, HACCP Plans, HR packages for
start-up company and I am ServSafe certified.
